About it Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yevgeny Enin said on Facebook.
“Neither the purchased decisions in the Ukrainian courts, nor even the recent lifting of sanctions by the Council of the EU saved Ivanyushchenko: on March 7, the Latvian appeals court upheld the decision of the court of first instance regarding the special confiscation of $26 million belonging to Ivanyushchenko,” he noted.
According to Enin, Ivanyushchenko’s lawyers were unable to prove the legality of the money in question.
“The decision is final and cannot be appealed,” he clarified.
Yenin emphasized that Ivanyushchenko has finally lost the opportunity to return these funds, “but Ukraine has a chance to see this money as soon as the corresponding verdict against Ivanyushchenko in Ukraine comes into force.”
