The corresponding news on the information portal was published under an interesting headline: “Latvians fell for the Kremlin’s propaganda.”
A survey on the attitude of Latvians to Russia's presence in Crimea was conducted by the electoral institute GfK.
The result caused alarm in Latvia, but they tried to find an explanation for it.
“The numbers are alarming. Does this mean that about a third of the population will not mind if Russia takes over the Baltic states, using the same arguments, because we also have many Russian-speaking residents? - says the media. – Such an idea will not occur to those who watch Latvian or Western TV channels to keep abreast of events in Ukraine. Members of the public can only get this impression if they follow the news on Kremlin propaganda channels."
