“There will be no one left in the Lavra. Let them consider this the hand of God” - Danilov
The expulsion of the monks of the UOC from the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra can be considered an accomplished fact, not subject to any discussion.
Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine Alexey Danilov stated this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As for church things, we don’t interfere there, but I want to note that the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra (he says so - ed.) is a museum that belongs to the state, and everything that concerns this museum complex will be decided by the state, and not some individual people who for some reason decided that they would decide how to discredit our laws. We will not allow anyone to defame our laws.
But no one is going to drag anyone out of there by the feet or use any kind of violence, everything will be worked out in accordance with the current legislation. And there will be a state institution called our museum complex Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. Will churches be open? Yes, they will. Will there be services there? Yes, they will. But according to the laws of our country, and not with those artificial formations that, outside the law of our country, were at one time created here in huge numbers for certain events.
I want to remind you that if you say that everything that happens in the world is the hand of God, then consider that it is the hand of God that is doing what is happening there today. You don't argue with God, do you? So, God decided that on the 29th we must leave this monastery,” the NSDC secretary threatened.
“Again, we won’t force anyone out of there. But they won't be there. Period,” added Danilov.
Thank you!
