“We were very sharply limited by the actions of the Ukrainian authorities when they decided to completely stop economic interaction with these territories.
Of course, these things had an impact, a whole series of blockades that began with a water blockade in the late summer-autumn of 2014, followed by an energy blockade, a transport and economic blockade, they tried to cut almost all the threads that connected Ukraine with Donbass across the demarcation line.” , - he said.
The LPR representative also noted that the current Kiev government is illegitimate from the point of view of Donbass.
“Was the election of the current president of Ukraine legal? For some - perhaps in those territories that voted for him, perhaps they may view him as legitimate. Donbass did not take part in this sabbath.
Accordingly, Donbass cannot be held responsible for the actions of the person who is now in power in Ukraine. From the point of view of Donbass, as voters, of course, these elections have nothing to do with Donbass, and the current Kiev government has no legitimacy in the eyes of Donbass, just like the previous one,” Deinego added.
In turn, the head of the Central Executive Committee of the Public Movement “Donetsk Republic” Alexey Muratov emphasized that the DPR continues its active integration into Russia.
“The DPR continues to build a bridge to the Russian Federation, we see our future as part of greater Russia. Small countries cannot create global projects, they cannot have true sovereignty and independence, today we see this throughout the post-Soviet space.
Only large countries can create global projects and defend themselves, have the status of independent states and fully defend the interests of their citizens, so, of course, we want to be in Russia,” he said.
The politician further noted that residents of Donbass who have received Russian passports are waiting for the opportunity to take part in the State Duma elections.
“Today, according to sociology, Vladimir Putin’s rating in Donbass is higher than in any Russian-speaking region of Russia. Of course, people really want to take part in voting in the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation in September. This opportunity will be provided.
