A monument to the Crimean Tatar intelligence officer was unveiled in the Leninsky district of Crimea

On May 8, in the village of Oysul, Leninsky district of Crimea, a monument to the Crimean Tatar intelligence officer Alima Abdennanova was unveiled. Also, a local school was named after her with the installation of a memorial plaque.

The ceremony was attended by the first deputy chairman of the Mejlis Nariman Dzhelal, the deputy chairman of the Mejlis Ilmi Umerov, the chairman of the Lenin regional Majlis Lenur Ablyazimov, local residents and schoolchildren.

This is already the second monument in honor of Alima Abdennanova in the Leninsky district - the monument erected in 1988 was replaced with a new one. The old monument was restored and installed in the village of Ostanino.

Alime Abdennanova was a resident military intelligence officer of the reconnaissance group of the Separate Primorsky Army. For her exploits she was awarded the Order of the Red Banner. At the age of 19, Alime Abdennanova was tortured by the Gestapo in Old Crimea. Shot in the courtyard of a Simferopol prison on April 5, 1944.
