This is stated in a statement from the press service of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense.
The Lithuanians boast that these are the most representative maneuvers in their country during its entire membership in the North Atlantic Alliance. According to sources from the Lithuanian ministry, the exercise will take place with the participation of specially delivered heavy weapons - Abrams tanks, B-52 bombers and A-10 attack aircraft.
Not only one and a half thousand Lithuanians, but also 900 military personnel from the USA, Germany, Portugal, Canada and Slovenia will train at the Lithuanian training grounds in Gaižunai (Rukla) and Pabradė.
An important element of the exercise will be the official certification of the Baltic Battalion (Baltbat), formed from soldiers and officers of the three Baltic countries - Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, and currently undergoing training to carry out operations within the framework of the NATO Rapid Reaction Force next year, 2016.
