This was reported by the Baltic news agency Delfi.
“There are known cases where suspicious software was involved. It has been noticed that the possibilities for connection are left in it, and when the connection occurs, one can only guess what they are doing and how they are controlled,” said Lithuanian Vice Minister of Defense Edvinas Kärza.
“Cyber security experts are still looking for an alternative to replace it. Russian software allows the system to be hacked,” he added.
Edvinas Kärza did not specify for which government departments and enterprises there is a threat of system hacking or from what software this occurs, but emphasized that this is connected with Russia and the specialists who will have to assess the security of the systems.
It was also noted that Lithuania may refuse to use anti-virus programs created by the Russian company Kaspersky.
