In the LPR, the deputy head of the city was arrested for theft of one million rubles
Employees of the anti-corruption department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the LPR, during an inspection in the city of Bryanka, discovered that some officials of the city administration systematically steal construction materials provided under the state contract “For the purchase of construction materials for the restoration of individual residential buildings damaged as a result of military actions”, which was concluded to implement the state programs “2000” and “2000+” houses.

This was reported today by the Center for Public Relations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the LPR, reports the local news agency “Istok”.
“Law enforcement officers found out that officials who are members of the commission for examining the destruction of capital buildings of the Bryanka City Administration took advantage of their official position and illegally appropriated construction materials belonging to the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the LPR. These construction materials were intended for distribution to citizens whose houses were damaged during shelling,” the statement says.
“Officials committed illegal actions by drawing up fictitious documents on the issuance of construction materials to city residents, and thus used the remaining surplus for their own needs. The total amount of misappropriated materials is more than one million rubles,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs added.
Based on these facts, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the LPR has opened several criminal cases on the grounds of a crime provided for in Part 4 of Article 179 of the Criminal Code of the LPR “Appropriation or embezzlement, that is, theft of someone else’s property, committed on an especially large scale.”
Police officers detained the head of one of the departments of the Bryanka administration on suspicion of committing these illegal actions. During further investigation, it was established that one of the deputy heads of the Bryanka administration was also involved in the commission of crimes. The official was detained and, by decision of the Leninsky District Court of the city of Lugansk, was taken into custody.
At the moment, the investigation of the case is almost completed, and the materials will soon be submitted to the court.
