In the LPR, a major terrorist attack was prevented by the SBU
Employees of the Ministry of State Security of the LPR prevented a terrorist attack being prepared by the Ukrainian special services in one of the cities of the republic.
This was reported by the press service of the department, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On August 23 of this year, on the eve of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the “Independence Day of Ukraine,” foreign intelligence services planned to carry out a terrorist attack in the city of Krasny Luch of the Lugansk People’s Republic in a place of mass gathering of citizens,” the report says.
The department emphasized that the improvised explosive devices were planned to be launched on the central alley of the city along Lenin Street in the area of Kirov Square and secondary school No. 10.
To do this, the Ukrainian special services handed over four improvised explosive devices with remote initiation to their local agent. After retrieving the bomb cache, the agent was briefed on the details of the "job" for which he was promised a monetary reward.
“According to the plan of the foreign intelligence service, on the evening of August 23 of this year, the specified devices, prepared for use, were to be placed in ballot boxes on the central alley of the city of Krasny Luch and initiated at the moment of a mass gathering of people in the square.
The expert forensic group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the LPR, with the involvement of the canine service, conducted a study of the devices recovered from the cache, during which it was established that they contained explosives,” the press service added.
Now employees of the Ministry of State Security of the LPR are carrying out operational search activities against persons involved in the preparation of the terrorist attack. At the moment, it has become clear that the order to organize the terrorist attack was given by the head of the 3rd Directorate of the SBU Main Directorate in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, Vitaly Vladimirovich Vinnichenko, against whom a criminal case has already been initiated in the LPR.
“We place all responsibility for the ongoing terror against the civilian population of Donbass and inhumane methods of warfare on the leadership of the SBU and the official Kyiv authorities,” the department added.
