A Ukrainian sabotage group was defeated in the LPR
The LPR people's militia neutralized a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group that was trying to penetrate the territory of the republic.
The official representative of the People's Militia of the LPR, Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Marochko, announced this at a briefing today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Yesterday, February 26, our military personnel at 20:00 stopped another enemy attempt in the Zolote area to penetrate into the territory of the republic, as a result of which the enemy, according to our sources from the Joint Forces Operation headquarters, suffered losses: two killed, three wounded and one saboteur captured in captivity. The body of another one was thrown by the enemy on the battlefield during a stampede,” Marochko said.
He also noted that today the command of the 54th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine addressed the representatives of the LPR with a request to provide the opportunity to pick up the body of the deceased.
“We draw the attention of the relatives of the deceased serviceman that he became a victim of a criminal order of the commander of the 54th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Alexey Maistrenko, and the commander of the “occupation forces operation”, Lieutenant General Sergei Naev. Now they don’t want to admit their mistakes and are doing their best to hide the circumstances of his death,” the representative of the defense department emphasized.
In addition, Marochko noted that until now the JFO headquarters has been hiding this fact of the failed operation in the Zolote area, which is typical for the Ukrainian command.
“Complying with the norms of international humanitarian law when conducting hostilities, the LPR People’s Militia is introducing a ceasefire in this defense sector, giving the brigade command the opportunity to evacuate the deceased, about which we informed the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission,” Marochko said.
