This information was reported by the press service of the Ministry of State Security of the LPR, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“From the testimony it follows that, under the threat of reprisals against his family, he was forced to give written consent to cooperate with the SBU and, on their instructions, to come to Lugansk to carry out intelligence activities in favor of Ukraine. For this purpose, Kunchenko was included in the lists for prisoner exchange and he was given the task of collecting personal data of medical workers, civil servants and law enforcement officers of the Republic,” the press service reported.

Let us note that Kunchenko had to transmit all information to his wife via mobile communication. After completing this task, Kunchenko was supposed to return to Rubezhnoye and, as a provocateur, continue his “work” for the SBU in order to identify citizens who were ready to resist the Kyiv regime.

“Under the weight of the evidence incriminating him, Kunchenko admitted to collaborating with the Ukrainian intelligence services and gave a confession. His activities were promptly stopped, and therefore, the agent and provocateur of the SBU did not have time to fulfill the task of his curators and harm the interests of state security of the Republic,” the press service noted.

“In accordance with the note to Art. 336 of the Criminal Code of the LPR (“Espionage”), the investigative authorities decided not to prosecute Roman Kunchenko and expel him from the LPR with an entry ban for a period of 10 years,” the department summed up.

“My name is Kunchenko Roman Anatolyevich. On March 28, 2017, I was detained on suspicion of organizing terrorism against the government of Ukraine. I was recruited by blackmailing my family and making threats.

After the trial, we were brought to a transfer point in Severodonetsk to the Emergency Situations Ministry base. Among the SBU officers who were there was officer Alexey, he himself is a foreigner. He told me: “Go away, don’t worry about anything. If they offer you cooperation, agree. Go home, no one will touch you.”

The task was to travel through the exchange to this side. Watch, listen, remember names, who interrogated, what conversations were going on. Upon his return, he was given the task of creating provocative situations, identifying people who are loyal to people located on the territory of the LPR. As these people acted, the SBU took them into development. I made a statement and admitted that I was recruited by the SBU to work against the authorities and people of the Republic.

After the exchange, I return home; I received full medical care. I have no complaints against the staff and law enforcement agencies,” said the detainee Roman Kunchenko himself.
