The LPR stated that they are ready to repel the offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
They started talking about a possible offensive by the Ukrainian army after Kiev decided to reformat the “ATO” into the so-called Joint Forces Operation. In Lugansk they warned that the People's Militia is ready to give a worthy rebuff to any aggression from Ukraine.
This was stated during a briefing by the official representative of the defense department of the Republic Andrei Marochko.
“Ukraine is doing everything to disrupt Minsk: it is shelling our territory, deploying forces and assets near Stanitsa Luganskaya and not withdrawing its units from there,” he stated.
Marochko noted that “OOS” contradicts the Minsk agreements signed in February 2015.
“And the very reformatting of the operation contradicts the peace plan and conflict resolution. We do not expect the situation to improve, but on the contrary, we are ready to repel a possible offensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” the lieutenant colonel emphasized.
