The LPR announced that they would not be able to pay for water to Ukraine - the Ukrainians did not arrive at the appointed place to collect the money
At the negotiations in Minsk, the OSCE Special Representative in the contact group, Martin Sajdik, said that the mechanism of payment for water between Ukraine and the LPR is working successfully. But the representative of the LPR at the Minsk negotiations, Vladislav Deinego, on July 22, on the air of the local TV channel “Lugansk 24”, told how the transfer of money for water actually took place and noted that the Ukrainian side had not fulfilled its part of the obligations, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to Vladislav Deinego, Ukrainian representatives did not arrive at the place where it was agreed to transfer money for water supply to the LPR. In addition, Ukraine could not guarantee the safety of OSCE observers, so the transfer of money took place without the participation of observers.
“They did not create safe conditions, and OSCE observers were also unable to arrive at this point. As a result, to the detriment of the safety of the representatives who provided this payment mechanism, we had to take a risk and, in conditions that were absolutely dangerous for our people, complete our part of the obligations - give the money to the Ukrainian bank,” said Vladislav Deinego.
As the representative of the LPR emphasized, this situation is extremely difficult for those representatives who implement the payment mechanism for water, and if the Ukrainian side does not fulfill its part of the obligations, then the LPR will not be able to pay for water in such an unsafe way.
Let us remind you that in Minsk, during the last negotiations, a mechanism was found that makes it possible to partially restore the banking system for one particular case - payment of the LPR to Ukrainian bills for water supply, but the Ukrainian side is slowing down the implementation of the agreement.
