In Lutsk, police detained pigs that greeted Poroshenko
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has not yet appeared in Lutsk, where his election event was planned.
Journalists from Ukrainian publications report this from the scene.
“A resident of the Lutsk region, Nikolai Gachevsky, brought a piglet to a meeting with Poroshenko - “little Svinarchuk,” which he named Petya “in honor of our guarantor,” reports the Kiev online newspaper “Strana”.
Let us recall that Svinarchuk is the first name of the deputy head of the NSDC President Oleg Gladkovsky, who was involved in a high-profile corruption scandal related to theft in the defense sector.
It is also noted that another “pig” is led through the city streets on a leash, grunting and squealing.
Some locals came with an inflatable Peppa Pig, a character from the British animated series.
In turn, the Volyn portal “Under the Gun” reports that the police have begun to take away piglets from the protesters.
Local journalists also write that Teatralnaya Square in Lutsk has been blocked by law enforcement officers since the morning.
“A clash occurred between ordinary residents of the city, who would like to ask a few questions to the president, and the police. As it became known, policeman Yuri Vladimirovich S. pushes people away with all sorts of actions. It also became known that Volyn journalists are not allowed through the fence. Allegedly, over time, accredited journalists will be allowed through, but there was no information about accreditation... Security, meanwhile, takes photographs and films of all those who want to communicate with the guarantor and journalists who were not allowed through,” the publication reports.
Only those who are on the lists compiled by the presidential press service are allowed through the fence.
According to the latest data, Poroshenko will not come to Lutsk, but will go to Kovel.
