“It’s too early to celebrate the victory. There are unfavorable factors and problems. There are quite vast territories that until today were conditionally controlled by militants, and in which there is still no control of the ATO forces. This means that terrorists have the opportunity to retreat, maneuver, and regroup,” Dmitry Tymchuk, head of the Center for Military-Political Studies, wrote on his Facebook page.
“By the evening of this day, Lugansk and Donetsk will be filled to capacity with fleeing militants. We remember how difficult it was to recapture small Slavyansk, full of civilians, from the enemy. Fighting in regional centers, given the huge number of civilians, will be many times more difficult. Ideally, take these cities right away. But I’m afraid this is impossible,” he said.
According to him, the Ukrainian military also fails to take control of the border.
“We know from diplomatic sources that the Ukrainian authorities are under wild pressure from “friendly” Europe in order to force them to stop active actions in Donbass and declare a truce again. The singer in this “pacifist” choir, by the way, is from Germany. It is very difficult to resist this pressure from some EU countries,” Tymchuk also claims.
As Navigator reported, earlier the DPR government said that the militia had retreated to reserve positions and they were not going to surrender. Columns of equipment, according to the Donetsk City Council, entered the city.
