“Today we held a family competition - an inter-battle “Can you hear me well, Banderlog?” This name is so that people come here, thinking that there will be something politicized here, but in fact it is an ordinary competition and a bunch of gifts,” said Marina Gornostaeva, head of the city department for children, family and youth affairs.
She noted that recently many common words have acquired new meanings.
Four teams representing the city districts - Artemovsky, Kamennobrodsky, Leninsky, Zhovtnevy - took part in the competition. Team members had to guess words and sayings from popular children's songs, films and cartoons.
“Over the past year, many words have acquired a double meaning. When they say “dill”, “Banderlog”, it is associated with something political,” explained Gornostaeva.
At the same time, the head of the department emphasized that the children of the Lugansk region “think about peace, and these words for them are the most common words from their favorite cartoons.”
“We did this so that the whole world, if possible, would see that we have exactly the same families, exactly the same children, and they watch the same cartoons, grow up on the same fairy tales,” she added.
