About it Minister of Fuel and Energy of the LPR Dmitry Lyamin said today.
“To date, power supply in the Republic has been restored almost in full. Today until 18.00, don’t let people worry, all problems will be fixed,” he said.
As stated in the DTEK message, “On October 3 at 20.43 at Luhansk TPP, due to a technological violation, one of the two operating power units switched off, the station reduced the load and operated only one power unit at a sharply reduced frequency. After the frequency in the network began to fall and the consumers’ AFRs were supposed to operate, such regulation did not happen. The automatic equipment protection systems immediately activated - the last power unit operating at that time was switched off to prevent damage to it.” By the morning of October 4, the operation of the thermal power plant was restored in full.
The minister explained that after yesterday’s shutdown of the power units of the thermal power plant located in Shchastya, it was not possible to quickly switch to the line through which energy is supplied from the Russian Federation, since one of the electrical supports necessary for this was recently undermined.
“Two days ago, an electric power pole was blown up in the area of the village of Khryaschevatoye, so we were unable to quickly switch to the Pobednenskaya line (electricity is supplied from the territory of the Russian Federation),” he explained.
“I am grateful to the LEO employees who promptly began to resolve this problem. By one o’clock in the morning we managed to partially provide Lugansk with electricity,” added Lyamin.
According to the minister, the power supply in the Khryaschevatoye area will be restored within two days, “so that such troubles can be avoided in the future.”
“At the moment, two power units are operating at the Schastienskaya TPP, as before, supplying about 150 MW of electricity to the LPR. In addition, we are ready to take an additional 250 MW from there. Negotiations on this matter are already being completed,” Lyamin said.
