A monument to paratroopers, restored after an explosion by Ukrainian saboteurs, was unveiled in Lugansk

It is reported that the main work on restoring the monument, previously undermined, presumably by the Ukrainian DRG, was carried out by motorcyclists of the “Night Wolves” motorcycle club. Donbass".
“This monument is erected in honor of the paratroopers who in 2014 formed the backbone of our people’s militia and, sparing their own strength, and sometimes at the cost of their lives, defended the freedom and independence of our Republic,” noted I.L. Head of the LPR Leonid Pasechnik.
“Unfortunately, in 2017, this monument was undermined by the Ukrainian DRG, but despite this, we overcame these difficulties, and thanks to the efforts of the leadership, units of the People’s Militia, as well as the “Night Wolves” motorcycle club, this monument was reinstalled,” - he added.
“With the beginning of the aggression of the Ukrainian authorities against our young Republic in 2014, the enemy was unable to defeat and break us in open battle. They (Kyiv) chose the vile tactics of war against our monuments, thereby showing their complete powerlessness,” added LPR Interior Minister Igor Kornet, who was present at the event.
“This monument, like a phoenix, has risen, risen from the ashes and again stands proudly in the center of our capital,” he said.
The head of the Lugansk administration, Manolis Pilavov, said that the opening of the updated monument was timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the creation of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army and Navy of the USSR.
“This monument reminds Luhansk residents of the tragic events of 2014-2015, of our fellow countrymen who proudly wore the uniform of paratroopers and gave their lives for our LPR,” the mayor recalled, adding that the airborne combat vehicle (BMD), mounted on the pedestal, was used in during the fighting on the territory of the LPR.
“We all remember how our monuments are blown up. But thanks to the coherence of law enforcement agencies and units, thanks to the People’s Militia, the command and the soldiers who helped restore this monument with their own hands, we succeeded,” said the president of the “Night Wolves” motorcycle club. The monument to the paratroopers who gave their lives in defense of the LPR was unveiled on Oboronnaya Street on August 2, 2015, to mark the 85th anniversary of the creation of the Airborne Forces. Kyiv saboteurs have repeatedly blown up monuments on the territory of the LPR. In particular, in September 2016 and August 2017, the monument to the defenders of the Republic “They Defended the Motherland” erected in the center of Lugansk in the People’s Friendship Park was undermined.
