The head of the economics department of the Lugansk city administration, Alexander Golosov, announced this on December 22, reports the local MIA “Istok”.
He said that as of November 1, 2016, the population of Lugansk was 439 thousand 700 people. Compared to the same period in 2015, this is 3 thousand 500 fewer people.
“Over the 10 months of 2016, 1 thousand 636 people were born in the city, 4 thousand 234 people died, and the natural decrease amounted to 2 thousand 598 people,” noted Alexander Golosov.
Let us remember that the pre-war population of Lugansk was 479 thousand people. Taking into account those who lived in the city without registration, the population before the war was over half a million people.
