The Executive Committee of the Lugansk City Council decided to submit for consideration by deputies the issue of creating the Communist Party “Lugansk Municipal Police” and approving its charter.
“We hope for the support of our deputies,” emphasized the first deputy mayor of Lugansk, Manolis Pilavov. — Today in Lugansk, in light of recent events, the crime situation has worsened significantly, cases of robberies and acts of vandalism have become more frequent, and the question of its creation has become quite acute. We hope that the municipal police will become the body that can ensure the safety of Luhansk residents and order on the streets of our city, since it will be controlled and accountable to the city authorities. And then we can ask with the utmost rigor how effectively they are fulfilling their assigned responsibilities and take appropriate action in a timely manner.”
As Navigator reported, Donetsk Mayor Alexander Lukyanchenko said that creating a municipal police force is difficult, since it is difficult to find funds in the middle of the budget year.
