This was reported by the head of the project “We will not forget, we will not forgive!” Anna Soroka.

She noted that since July 2014, a difficult situation began in the city, surrounded by Ukrainian punitive troops: there was no electricity, there were no places in the morgue, and in conditions of heavy shelling there was a problem with burials. A decision was made on a temporary burial outside the territory of the regional psychoneurological dispensary near the village of Vidny in the south-east of Lugansk.

According to burial participants and search party activists, up to 500 people can be buried in the mass grave, which consists of two lines of trenches.

“This topic has been painful for a year and a half and does not go away - those who saw this “spectacle”, these trenches with nameless crosses, are visited by emotions,” Soroka noted.

“Therefore, a decision was made to erect the memorial complex “We will not forget, we will not forgive!” there. It will be an addition to that terrible place that is located opposite – the Great Patriotic War memorial “We will not forget, we will not forgive!”, where the Nazis shot civilians,” said the project manager.

She recalled that the Memorial Complex “We will not forget! Unforgivable!”, popularly called “Lugansk Khatyn”, is a mass grave of civilians of Lugansk who were shot by the Nazis in 1942-1943. The executions were carried out near an anti-tank ditch, in which the Nazis then buried the bodies of the dead. According to official data, more than three thousand civilians of the city were shot here, but some researchers believe that more than 10 thousand Lugansk residents and residents of nearby settlements were brutally killed at this place.

“We want the new memorial complex to have, if possible, the most complete lists of all the victims who are buried there. We ask all people who have suspicions or reliable information that a specific person could be buried there, please report to the project “We will not forget, we will not forgive!” at the address: Lugansk, Karl Marx Street, 7, room 211,” Soroka addressed the residents of Lugansk.
