The military commandant's office of the LPR detained a citizen of Ukraine who had previously served in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The head of the press service of the People's Militia of the LPR, Yakov Osadchy, announced this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“During passport control activities, a unit of the Lugansk commandant’s office in the area where military unit A 2014 of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was located until 1973, detained a Ukrainian citizen who had previously served in this unit.

According to preliminary data, he independently arrived in Lugansk to visit his relatives and officially crossed the line of military contact through the Mayorsk checkpoint. He cannot clearly explain what he did on the former territory of his unit,” he said.

Osadchy also added that the commandant’s office continues to check the detainee for involvement in participation in hostilities as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine against the Donbass republics.
