Lugansk, April 29 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – In Lugansk, protesters stormed the regional state administration, demanding a referendum and the appointment of a “people’s governor.”

Let us remind you that today, April 29, at 14:00, the ultimatum put forward by the invaders of the SBU building to the authorities expired. Among the demands: an amnesty for all political prisoners, a referendum, the abolition of price and tariff increases, as well as giving the status of the state language to the Russian language.
Due to the failure to comply with the conditions, about 2 thousand people gathered in the square in front of the regional state administration, some were armed with sticks and hammers. People demanded a referendum. In addition, they expressed a desire for the regions to be governed by a “people's governor.” So far no one from the administration has contacted them.
According to local media, officials from the Regional State Administration building were evacuated in advance.
At around 15 p.m., protesters broke several windows, and some of the activists climbed into the building through window openings. A small bang was heard inside (possibly the explosion of a flash-noise or gas grenade), reports the Ostrov publication.
The law enforcement officers did not offer resistance, some of them also left the building. Protesters hand over St. George's ribbons for them. The protesters say that this is confirmation that “the police are with the people.”
The flag of the “Lugansk Guard” was hung on the 4th floor of the building. The flag of Ukraine was torn from the flagpole in front of the building and the Russian tricolor was hung. Activists chanted “Russia! Russia!"
By 15:40 the building was completely under the control of protesters. At the same time, activists are trying to restrain them in order to prevent looting. The building is watered with champagne “for good luck.”
Information has emerged that the people who captured the Regional State Administration are beginning to erect barricades inside the building, fearing a possible attack.
According to preliminary data, no one was injured during the seizure of the Regional State Administration.
