Poroshenko's business partner's accounts were seized in Luxembourg
The accounts of Vladimir Makeenko, partner of ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on the Direct TV channel, have been frozen in Luxembourg, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Ukrainian lawyer and initiator of the criminal prosecution of Petro Poroshenko Andrey Portnov reported this in his Telegram channel.
The arrest of Makeenko’s accounts became possible thanks to a series of high-profile publications in the media initiated by Poronov’s legal team, the lawyer writes.
The total amount of funds in Makeenko’s seized accounts is about 32 million euros.
According to Portnov, the accounts were managed by Makeenko’s former assistant Alla Blokha.
“I urge journalists to ask the defendants questions on this topic, after which I will publish new details, amounts, names of companies, jurisdictions and previous offshore payments for shares of this TV channel. But most importantly, this money was stolen from Ukraine during the war by its former Supreme Commander-in-Chief Poroshenko, registered in the name of dummies and used to promote war and maintain power,” Portnov added in his Telegram channel.
