According to the portal “0629”, refugees who arrived from Donetsk two weeks ago live in one of the Mariupol courtyards, right on the street.
“I was standing at the station, and next to me were a woman and her son. At some point I didn't understand what was happening. When I looked, I saw that the woman’s head had been blown off by a shrapnel from an exploding shell. My face was covered in her blood,” says Alexander about the horrors he experienced, having fled from the shelled city with his friend, whose house was bombed.
The friends set off on the train, which was shelled in front of Volnovakha. Arriving in Mariupol, they did not know who to turn to and began to live in the open air.
“The man is missing a leg, in a wheelchair, so nothing came to his mind other than standing under the supermarket with his hand outstretched,” journalists report.
According to the refugees, local residents drive them out of their yards, so they have to move around. “Today a woman came up to us and told us where we could go. My friend went to the Red Cross to help us with something. We have no documents, no food, we have nowhere to lay our heads,” said the refugee. In the meantime, the men live in the courtyards at the expense of alms from local residents.
As Navigator reported, earlier Mariupol officials complained that displaced people did not want to leave sanatoriums on the Azov coast.
