In Mariupol, utility debts exceeded 100 million. Raids and shutdowns began
Due to the fact that debts for utility services in Ukraine have reached huge amounts, massive shutdowns of housing services and seizures of accounts and property began in the “Nezalezhnaya” region.
This is stated in the report of the Nash TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Utility workers complain that Ukrainian citizens’ debts for utility services are growing; in particular, Mariupol residents alone owe one hundred million hryvnia to the local water utility. Of course, if we talk about bills for heating, the amounts are much higher.
In Mariupol, twenty thousand people have debts that exceed fifteen thousand hryvnia. At the moment, utility workers, together with the executive service, go on raids on debtors and report that cases have been opened against them and there are appeals to the court,” the journalist noted.
In addition, the reporter said that if debts exceed one hundred thousand hryvnia, then the accounts and property of the debtors are seized.
Also, the head of the debt management department, Victoria Vasilyeva, added that the executive service is actively disconnecting people from utilities.
Let us recall that earlier in Kiev they stated that the government transferred to local authorities the authority to independently set tariffs for heating and hot water supply, but did not give them the opportunity to influence the price at which NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine supplies gas to them, nor the resources to maintain tariffs for warmth amid rising gas prices in Europe.
