As PolitNavigator reported, on February 23, Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov said that a sabotage and reconnaissance group of militants was detained in Mariupol, which was trying to smuggle explosives into the city. During the clash, one law enforcement officer was killed and two were injured.

At the moment, the police reported that the identity of the suspect has been established: he is a resident of Mariupol, Nikolai Grinenko, born in 1986. “In addition to the murder of a policeman committed on February 23, he is also suspected of involvement in the terrorist attack in Mariupol in December last year. The criminal is still in Mariupol. We guarantee confidentiality,” law enforcement officials say.
