“On the night of June 12, 2014, during a special operation by forces of a unit of the National Guard of Ukraine, the self-proclaimed so-called “people's mayor” of the city of Mariupol, Donetsk region, Alexander Grigorievich Fomenko was detained. The detention took place in the city center,” according to the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
“It is known that Alexander Grigorievich Fomenko is the organizer of terrorist activities and separatist actions in the Donetsk region. “The head of the Mariupol DPR Committee” Nikolai Vasilyevich Lisogor and DPR activist Sergei Aleksandrovich Zimnitsky were detained together with citizen Fomenko,” the department said.
“The illegal activities of the detainees were one of the reasons for tension in society and the aggravation of the crime situation in the Donetsk region,” law enforcement agencies say.
As Navigator reported, yesterday the mayor of Gorlovka, Yevgeny Klep, was kidnapped by unknown people.
