Mariupol, June 14 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – In Mariupol, during the shelling and subsequent confrontation, five Ukrainian border guards were killed, and seven more were injured.

“This morning at about 10.00 in Mariupol, in the area of the Azovstal plant, a convoy of State Border Service vehicles was fired from an ambush. The cars were sent with a load of provisions and clothing to the state border units. The shelling was carried out from machine guns and grenade launchers. The military personnel accepted the battle. During the confrontation, 5 border guards were killed and 7 more were injured,” the State Border Service said in a statement.
The department reported that the wounded border guards were provided with first aid, and the issue of sending them to safer regions for treatment is being resolved.
As Navigator reported, yesterday, June 13, an anti-terrorist operation took place in Mariupol: 30 militiamen were detained and state flags were hung over administrative buildings. President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed to move the office of the Donetsk Regional State Administration to Mariupol.
