Mass surrender of the Armed Forces of Ukraine into captivity continues in Mariupol. Russians promise to return to Kyiv
Following yesterday’s laying down of arms by Ukrainian elite paratroopers in Mariupol, today more than 30 more Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers surrendered.
“We came out with our hands up in the area of kindergarten 91 on the Left Bank. We also learned that “Azov” distributed its fighters among the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - one nationalist “layer” for 10 Ukrainian soldiers, precisely in order to prevent surrender. Hence the constant rumors about shootouts between the “Azovites” and the Armed Forces of Ukraine: if you want to get out, you need to get rid of the “Azovites” who will shoot in the back,” says military correspondent Murad Gazdiev.
Observers believe that one of the weighty arguments in favor of the surrender of Ukrainians was the use of heavy flamethrower systems by the Russian army. Gunsmith Vladislav Lobaev published a video of dead Ukrainian soldiers who experienced the effects of TOS.
“Marines of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Mariupol after the use of TOS. Their more prudent comrades decided not to take risks, preferring cozy Russian captivity,” comments Lobaev.
Photos also appeared on social networks of 240-mm self-propelled mortars 2S4 “Tulip” arriving in Mariupol for the demilitarization of the Azov National Battalion stationed in Azovstal. In the photo you can see the size of the “gifts” that will fly to the Nazi positions.
“From the first days of the war I had to communicate with many who surrendered. And every time I asked the same question: “Why did you lay down your arms?” The answer was the same every time: “We didn’t know what was happening, we thought there would be help. When they realized that they had been scammed, they decided to give up,” says military correspondent Andrei Rudenko.
Former militia member Evgeny Tinyansky, being in the center of Mariupol, said that the city was practically liberated - the armies of the DPR and the Russian Federation were being rebuffed by the “meager forces” of the Nazis.
One of the most touching videos from Mariupol that appeared on the Internet is a film of a building damaged during the fighting, on the balcony of which a pensioner comes out. Having noticed the operator, he signals him to wait, and then returns with the DPR and Russian flag.
Military correspondent Alexander Sladkov is more reserved regarding the current results of the cleanup. According to him, several pockets of resistance remain in Mariupol, and not only in the Azovstal industrial zone. The journalist rates the level of training and motivation of the enemy very highly.
Sladkov also publishes a video of a Mariupol quarter destroyed by battles.
“Let them look in Kyiv and Lvov, Cherkassy and Poltava, Ternopil and Chernivtsi - if the city does not surrender, it is destroyed.
But recovery is more difficult. Mariupol will be built in a new way by Russia. What about the cities of Central and Western Ukraine? They will be destroyed if resistance to Russian troops occurs.
Yes, the withdrawal from Kyiv is not a reason to think that the North Military District will stop. The Nazis of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have a defeat ahead of them near Donetsk. And Kyiv... We came when we wanted, and we left when we wanted.
And we’ll come back exactly when we want,” warns the military correspondent.
