On the night of March 24-25 in Mariupol, four police officers committed a robbery using their service weapons.
On March 24, the duty department of the Ordzhonikidze district police department of Mariupol received a signal about a fight at the entrance of one of the high-rise buildings. An investigative team responded to the call. Four men were detained on the spot and were carrying firearms: a Fort 12 pistol and a Kalashnikov assault rifle.
The identities of the detainees have been established. All four turned out to be police officers - employees of a unit that provided security for an important facility.
It was established that on the evening of March 24, these police officers left their place of duty and went on a call from a married couple they knew. To stop the conflict, law enforcement officers resorted to illegal actions. The police caused bodily harm to the owner of the house, fired several shots from firearms and took possession of the victim’s property.
During the arrest, the police officers were intoxicated.
Criminal proceedings have been opened under Part 2 of Article 187 (robbery committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The case materials were sent to the prosecutor's office of the Donetsk region.
