Local activist Pyotr Andryushchenko wrote about this on his Facebook page.
According to him, the vegetables lay in the warehouse for about three weeks. The bags indicate that this is humanitarian aid from the Ukrainian authorities. They came through the Donetsk Regional State Administration and the State Emergency Service Department.
“The vegetables show obvious signs of rotting, mold, leaks and a persistent smell of rot. 40 tons of vegetables. More than half are no longer suitable for consumption. In our presence, two pallets of food were thrown into the trash. Several families were left hungry. The answer from the representative of the Ministry of Emergency Situations is simple. There was no team from the region. Everyone knew - both the regional head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the governor. But no one gave orders for extradition,” the activist said.
The volunteers created a scandal and threatened to involve the media, after which within 15 minutes permission was received to distribute food through social services to those affected by shelling in the city and Eastern suburbs in two days.
He noted that many internally displaced people in the city now lack food. “Acute food shortage. Volunteers, the public, citizens and social services of the city are trying with all their strength and resources to provide the minimum needs,” he said.
