According to the publication «0629» with reference to eyewitnesses, a column of military equipment was moving along the street, which was fired upon by members of a sabotage and reconnaissance group. One of the shells hit a car, which caught fire and literally broke into pieces.
According to police, no one was injured during the incident. However, almost nothing remained of the burnt car. It is believed that no one was in the vehicle at the time of the explosion. There were no reports of this incident to doctors.
The headquarters of the city's territorial defense reported that no incidents with the military occurred there.
As the press service of the Mariupol City Police Department explained, at about 18:00 anonymous calls began to be received on number “102” from residents who said that on the street. Shots and explosions are heard in Poplar. Employees of the investigative and operational group immediately went to the scene. They cordoned off the area to ensure that no civilians were harmed. Decontamination work was carried out at the site. It is known that the burned car belonged to a civilian. No other details of the incident have been reported.
As PolitNavigator reported, this is not the first case of shelling and explosions in Mariupol. On social networks, the militias say that their saboteurs are working in the city and its environs.
