Due to bankrupt Ukrainian banks, Ukrainians are forced to pay twice for utilities. Ukrainian journalist Alexander Vetrov stated this on the air of the “Politics” talk show.

According to him, this is due to the fact that money paid for housing and communal services is “lost” in the accounts of bankrupt financial institutions.

“At the beginning of March, temporary administration was introduced in more than 40 banks. Banks are bankrupt, therefore depositors cannot receive payments. Associations of citizens of co-owners of houses were equated to them. The chairmen of the board of cooperatives of these houses with tears ask residents to chip in again and again for those services, the money for which is stuck in the banks,” Vetrov said.
