The results of the vote at the UN on a resolution entitled “The situation with human rights in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol (Ukraine)” should not be assessed as a victory for Ukraine, writes pro-Mejlis journalist, deputy director of the ATR channel Aider Muzhdabaev in his blog on Ukrayinska Pravda.

“Ukraine was supported by 73 countries, while four dozen of them were themselves co-authors and initiators of the resolution. 23 countries voted against, mostly direct satellites of the Russian Federation, totalitarian regimes, etc. And another 76 countries abstained from voting on Crimea. Total: either only for or not against the annexation of Crimea by Russia and gross violations of human rights - the majority of countries voting this night in the UN General Assembly. There are almost a hundred such countries - 99, Mujabiev laments. “I don’t think it’s a huge victory for Ukraine that the majority of humanity living in the modern, information world doesn’t give a damn about the Russian aggression against our country, about murders, kidnappings, and repressions against the Crimean Tatars.”

“So for now I would save my cap from being thrown into the air,” the journalist added. – Instead, I would ask our responsible officials to explain to the citizens of Ukraine why most of the world does not see a friend in Ukraine; why he either approves or does not imagine the true face of our enemy; why can’t/wants to put himself in our place. I would like to hear professional, detailed, but understandable answers from responsible officials. Apparently, it’s not suitable for us to continue working like this – we need to change something in approaches and technologies. Because given the current situation in the world, the number of people who are indifferent to Ukraine, in my opinion, can only grow.”
