International arbitration is preparing to recognize Crimea as Russian
Russia is preparing another trap for Ukraine, which could at the international level legitimize the recognition of Crimea as part of the Russian Federation.

Political scientist Dmitry Dzhangirov stated this on UkrLife, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The expert explained that he was referring to the international arbitration dispute on the law of the sea, initiated by Ukraine regarding the ownership of the Odessa gas field, where the Crimean Chernomorneftegaz is producing. If the court recognizes that the field is located closer to Ukraine and should fall under its jurisdiction, then this will mean that the territory beyond the median line of the field is not Ukrainian.
“The Russians are working on the issue of losing this trial on their own terms... They have one extreme case - losing it, but on the basis that it is located along the median line, the so-called closer to Ukraine. Do you understand what the catch is in order for such a decision to be made by arbitration? And this is recognition of Russia’s jurisdiction over Crimea! The median line between whom and whom? It’s really closer along the median line,” Dzhangirov noted.
