The Russian Foreign Ministry welcomed Poroshenko’s desire to raise the Ukrainian flag over Sevastopol
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova does not see anything reprehensible in the desire of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to raise the Ukrainian flag over Sevastopol.
She stated this today during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Declaring his intention to raise the flag of Ukraine in Sevastopol, the president (Poroshenko - editor's note) may have in mind the opening of the Consulate General. I don’t see anything negative in this - normal diplomatic practice, which, of course, must be formalized in the appropriate manner. I think we are ready for this. Let them send the documents, open the Consulate General and raise the flag there. I don’t think the Crimeans will be against it,” she said.
