The Russian Foreign Ministry read the US “Crimean Declaration” without interest
There is nothing new in the so-called “Crimean Declaration” announced yesterday by US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo.
Deputy official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Artem Kozhin told reporters about this today.
“Washington regularly makes statements on Russia and, in particular, on Crimea. Unfortunately, American politicians, who at one time actively supported the coup d’etat in Kyiv and then began the persecution of the Russian-speaking population in Ukraine, have continued to neglect the UN Charter for the fifth year. They cynically deny Crimeans the right to self-determination, which the residents of the peninsula realized in an open referendum in 2014,” Kozhin said.
According to him, more and more ordinary Americans, and citizens of other countries, “stop believing in the myth of Russian “occupation” and willingly come to the peninsula to relax and work, despite the dire warnings of their authorities.”
