This opinion was expressed at a briefing by the official speaker of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, commenting on the appearance in Lithuania of the scandalous website vatnikas.lt, which is an Internet clone of the Ukrainian “Peacemaker”.
Let us remind you that the mentioned Lithuanian website publishes the personal data of those Lithuanian citizens who had the courage to express their own position on the events of the recent past. Such “traitors” were accused of “glorifying the policies of the Soviet Union and the Kremlin” and were blacklisted by the mentioned portal.
“A very strange “democracy” and a strange idea of freedom of speech. It seems that it provokes a split in society and a direct fight against dissent. I would very much like this to not continue to pick up the pace of its development, because otherwise it will be very similar to the absolutely discriminatory, contrary to all norms in the field of freedom of speech, the odious portal “Peacemaker”, which calls for direct persecution, including of journalists, publishes personal data,” said Maria Zakharova..
