The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine believes that the “real” Koktebel is located in the Odessa region, and Artek is in the Carpathians
The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine released an angry statement with threats against musicians and performers from around the world who confirmed their participation in the traditional Crimean festival “Koktebel Jazz Party”.

“In connection with the intentions of cultural figures – citizens of foreign countries – to visit the occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea to participate in the so-called “Koktebel Jazz Party”, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine draws attention to the fact that such a trip has not been agreed upon with the Ukrainian side.
Entry and exit to the occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea is carried out in accordance with the Procedure for entry into and exit from the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, approved by Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated June 4, 2015 No. 367”, – says the statement of the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture posted on its official website.
Ukrainian officials also threaten cultural figures that if they violate the entry procedure established by Kiev, sanctions will be applied to the violators.
“The arrival of foreign cultural figures at this event will have a direct consequence in the form of a ban on their entry into the territory of Ukraine,” noted Minister of Culture Vyacheslav Kirilenko.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Culture recalled that “the real international festival “Jazz Koktebel -2015” will take place on August 23-30 in the village of Zatoka, Odessa region.”
Let us also recall that Ukrainian officials have repeatedly made similar statements in a similar style regarding events held in the Crimean Artek.
