Crimea has always been Ukrainian territory, and in the near future the peninsula will again come under the control of Kyiv.
About this in an interview with an Italian newspaper La Repubblica said Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine for European Integration Anatoly Petrenko, answering the question whether Crimea is lost forever for Ukraine.
“No, because Ukraine needs this region: Crimea is our land, our people, our economic potential. If before the annexation by Russia it was a meeting place for different peoples, from Russian to Polish, Belarusian and Ukrainian, today it has turned into a large Russian military base. A little patience, and we will win it back,” the deputy minister threatened.
He also stated that “Donbass is the first European front against Moscow’s aggression.”
Let us recall that in 2014, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Valeriy Geletey promised to hold a parade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Sevastopol, but in the end he was dismissed after the defeat of the Ukrainian group in the Ilovaisk cauldron.
