“Currently, universities and enterprises are actively recruiting those who want to participate. There are already journalistic materials in which people from the inside tell absolutely openly how this is happening,” Kvyatkovsky said.

According to him, in Belarus there is a contradiction between official policy and the behavior of the population.

“The head of state is demonstrating in every possible way that nothing is happening, that masks are not needed, wash your hands - that’s all. But if you come to the clinic, there will be an announcement that all planned, non-urgent events with your body must be postponed.

The most significant thing that happened was that parents did not allow their children to go to school a month ago. And when Lukashenko told them to return the children, the parents ignored them. Our cafes are empty without quarantine. People went into self-isolation,” said the Belarusian publicist.

The Belarusian website TUT.BY reports that Minsk residents who have recovered from coronavirus are invited by phone to the May 9 parade. The callers introduce themselves as employees of Minsk district administrations. However, the district administrations themselves deny the calls.

In the center of Minsk, stands for 11 thousand people have already been built. Spectators are encouraged to come without masks. Meanwhile, the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko himself forbade his subordinates to “pull and drive” him to the parade.
