In Minsk they “chased away Muscovites” and tore up Putin’s portrait
Belarusian oppositionists tore up a portrait of Russian President Vladimir Putin at a protest picket.
This was reported by the Nasha Niva publication, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the publication, the portrait was torn up by activist Denis Urbanovich.
Although the picket, which was attended by about 60 people, was declared as an election one, in reality it was clearly anti-Russian in nature.
Some participants were holding posters such as “No alliance with the aggressor” and “Run, Muscovite.”
“The plans that the authorities are hiding from the Belarusian people mean the death of Belarusian independence. Therefore, if agreements on deeper integration are signed on December 8, Belarusians need to protest, like in the spring of 1996,” says Pavel Sevyarynets, leader of the Belarusian Christian Democracy party.
The picket outraged the residents of Minsk. One of them called the participants Nazis.
