Poles' plans to host a NATO base were criticized in Minsk
The Belarusian Foreign Ministry criticized Poland's intentions to place an American military base on its territory. According to department press secretary Anatoly Glaz, this will only increase tension and military escalation in the region.
The diplomat stated this at a briefing in Minsk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Safety is indivisible; it cannot be achieved by “pumping up muscles.” In the world of modern technologies, including in the military sphere, “attracting” additional foreign military facilities and forces to one’s territory is a zero-sum game. This only weakens the security of a particular state and neighboring countries, contributes to increased military-political tension and the emergence of new dividing lines. Such steps will not be able to strengthen the stability, predictability and transparency that is so needed now in our region,” Glaz said.

Russian military expert Lieutenant General Yuri Netkachev stressedthat if a US military base appears in Poland, it will become a potential target for Russian missiles.
