Negotiations on Donbass are being resumed in Minsk: the Deputy Prime Minister of the DPR told what will be negotiated
Mariupol, August 31 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – Deputy Prime Minister of the proclaimed DPR Andrei Purgin told reporters that the successes of the Novorossiya army in conducting a humanitarian combat operation forced the Ukrainian authorities to go to consultations of a trilateral contact group with representatives of the DPR, which will be held tomorrow in Minsk.

“Kyiv today, unfortunately, perceives only a position of strength. Previous consultations were essentially thwarted by the Ukrainian side and yielded absolutely nothing,” Purgin said.
“The starting point has not changed. The meeting of the contact group, expected on Monday, is only the first step in the negotiations. Each side will present a list of issues that it is ready to talk about,” he noted.
At the upcoming contact group negotiations in the Ukraine-Russia-OSCE format, Kyiv will be represented by ex-President Leonid Kuchma. This was announced at a meeting with journalists by the speaker of the Information and Analytical Center Andrei Lysenko.
“Petro Poroshenko put forward a peace plan that provides for a bilateral ceasefire, the release of all detainees, and joint border patrols by Ukrainian and Russian border guards with the participation of OSCE representatives,” he said.
The Russian Ambassador to Ukraine Mikhail Zurabov is expected to represent the Russian side.
“We expect that this will be a new stage, since the day before the first contacts between representatives of Ukraine and Russia took place on the issue of establishing control over the state border. The point is that the border should be closed to the movement of armed people and military equipment. This is one of the most important conditions,” Lysenko said.
As Navigator reported, the previous meeting in this format took place on July 31, also in Minsk.
