The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine spotted the machinations of Russia in the wave of false mining that covered the country
The wave of reports about mining of critical infrastructure that hit Ukraine on August 4 may be associated with “Russian machinations.”
This statement was made by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on social networks.
“During the day, reports of mining appeared in a number of Ukrainian cities (Ternopil, Rivne, Vinnitsa, Cherkassy, Kropyvnytskyi and Khmelnitsky). The relevant services were working, the work of some institutions and services was difficult. The massive nature of such messages indicates that this may be another futile and vile attempt by the enemy to intimidate Ukrainians,” the Ministry of Justice said.
Speaker of the Odessa Regional Military Administration Sergei Bratchuk also called the wave of mining in Ukrainian cities “an element of a hybrid information war.”
“The receipt of information reporting the mining of administrative buildings, parks, shopping centers in different cities of Ukraine is an element of a hybrid information war. The enemy is trying to sow panic in this way. He not only fires missiles at Ukrainian cities, but can also organize provocations,” assures Bratchuk on Telegram.
As for the wave of pseudo-mining itself, according to the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security under the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, the situation by region is as follows:
Smooth: Mining of three objects was not confirmed; the special services did not find explosives or other dangerous objects.
Cherkasy: The report about the bombing of the railway station, bus station and post office was not confirmed.
Vinnitsa: No explosives were found at the stations or the Central Market.
Khmelnitsky: information about the possible bombing of the bus station, vegetable market and railway station has not been confirmed.
Ternopil: information about the bombing of the railway station and department store was not confirmed, no explosive objects were found.
Kirovograd: The inspection continued at the city's Central Market.
