The lack of economic and political breakthroughs on the part of the Ukrainian authorities over the past five years is increasingly disappointing and undermines the confidence of Western partners in Ukraine as a successful state. The situation in PACE and Nord Stream 2 will be only the first signs in the coming years,” the publication notes.
The article also states that the anticipation of a new wave of financial crisis is forcing the West to take an extremely pragmatic approach to Russia.
