Andrei Movchan, head of the economic program at the Carnegie Moscow Center and member of the World Economic Council on Russia, stated this in an interview with Kraina magazine.
In his opinion, Ukraine looks like “a distorted mirror of Russia, only without oil,” and Kyiv is using the war in Donbass as an “excuse for problems” and “a cover for inactivity.”
“The credibility of the international community in Ukraine is beginning to decrease, and, paradoxically, in Russia, on the contrary, it is growing,” Movchan believes. – Putin almost openly says that he is ready to sign a new Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. And the Europeans respond to this: “We must talk.” Ukrainians need to finally understand that the current situation - the war in Donbass, Crimea, and the economic failure in Ukraine - is in its own way beneficial to all the big forces influencing the state of affairs. But all this is not beneficial for the Ukrainian people.”
