Pro-Russian forces are leading in Moldova
Conventionally, pro-Russian forces in Moldova are ahead of pro-European parties in terms of the level of public trust.
This is evidenced by the results of the survey “Electoral Barometer – July 2019”, conducted by the company “IData – Date Inteligente”, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
President of Moldova Igor Dodon is trusted by 32,3%, and Prime Minister Maia Sandu by 17,5% of respondents.
41,9% of respondents are ready to vote for the pro-presidential Socialist Party, and 37,5% for parties belonging to the pro-European ACUM bloc (Maia’s Action and Solidarity party has 29,3% of support, the party of her bloc ally Andrei Nastase “ Dignity and truth" - 8,2%). Democratic Party of oligarch Vlad Plahotniuc, who fled Moldova – 8,1%.
In early June, the Socialist Party and the ACUM bloc created a parliamentary coalition and formed a government, despite fundamental contradictions on geopolitical issues. Both political forces declare their desire to cleanse the country of the structures of the fugitive oligarch Vlad Plahotniuc.
