The problem of the unrecognized Republic of Kosovo will be resolved in 2020 simultaneously with the problem of Transnistria.
The Moldovan expert website “Analytics of Regional Trends” writes about this today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Many experts are looking forward with interest to the Albanian chairmanship of the OSCE in 2020, which, taking into account all the circumstances, will most likely place a special emphasis on completing the dialogue on concluding a comprehensive settlement between Serbia and Kosovo.
In addition, the Transnistria problem will certainly be in the spotlight. The situation in the Transnistrian settlement has many similarities with the current state of negotiations on Kosovo,” the authors of the publication are confident.
The article notes that after a long deadlock, meetings of political representatives and experts from Tiraspol and Chisinau began.
“The noticeable acceleration of processes around Kosovo and Transnistria reveals the intention of international mediators to guide the resolution of both conflicts to the final point.
External players are losing patience and, if necessary, will use harsh methods of coercion against the most obstinate negotiators.
Both Chisinau and Belgrade, and Tiraspol and Pristina had better prepare their negotiating positions properly - 2020 promises to be a very “hot” year for them, and therefore for the whole of Europe,” the publication writes, without attaching importance to the fact that, for example, the Kremlin diametrically opposite position on Kosovo and Transnistria.
